Cartoons from many years ago

Item has been taken on a day trip with friends, and The Boy and I spent the morning sorting out the cupboard under the stairs (yep, we know how to live). Not many surprises, but for me, the high point was finding a big cardboard box of loads of my old sketchbooks and artwork. All my MA stuff is in there, and lots and lots of pictures that will never set the world on fire.

But also, I found four comic strips, and I really like them. I know I shared one of these before, many years ago, possibly when this journal was quite new. They predate the arrival of Item, but you can see I was certainly thinking abut pregnancy.

In many ways, these strips are better than the stuff I have been drawing recently, so there's quite a bit of thinking for me to do there.

OK, this is a pretty odd conclusion to come from clearing out the cupboard under the stairs - but I think I am inspired to do some strips around my two miscarriages.

ETA: I'm completely side-swiped by the fact that the 'friend' character only has one and a half arms. I totally don't remember the thinking behind that.
